Background

Organisation Co. is a fashion retail company that owns multiple fashion brands labels in shoes, clothing, accessories and others (articles). It owned over 135 physical stores across Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand. The business channel has also broadened its reach to include the online platform.

Due to the high inventory volume to register in SAP daily, the load balancing feature of RPA has helped to ensure the Articles SKUs (Stock Keeping Unit) creation tasks are managed efficiently to optimise performance and prevent bottlenecks.

Manual Process Before OrangeWorkforce RPA:

  1. Human retrieves list of designed sheet information to be updated to SAP daily.
  2. Human login to SAP to perform SKU registration based on the designed sheet information such as article type, merchandise category, article category, article description and others.
  3. Human needs to verify all the information key in and complete the SKU creation and post to SCM.

Automated Process with OrangeWorkforce RPA:

  1. Bot 1 post request to Supply Management (SCM) system via REST API
  2. Bot 1 received designed sheet information package to insert to a listing table.
  3. Bot 2 and Bot 3 picked up the package from the listing table to fulfil the task
  4. Each bot will login to SAP account to perform the Article Creation process steps.
  5. Once completed in SAP, Bot will send updated designed barcode to SCM system via REST API.
  6. Bot will update new SKU code created of the day in a summary listing (Microsoft Excel) and sent to PIC daily
  7. Include retry mechanisms at various failing point throughout the process.
